Spirituality and the Brain

An Urban Devi event with Suni Jani, MD

In this talk on neurotheology, we will delve into the fascinating intersection between brain science and spiritual or religious experiences. We'll understand how specific areas of the brain and certain brain chemicals play a role in experiencing spirituality, illustrated by insights from brain imaging. Additionally, there will be a small group activity where we will learn to observe and understand the impact of our own spiritual practices on our mental state. This interactive session aims to provide a practical application of the concepts discussed, enhancing our grasp of how spirituality intertwines with brain function.
